Q: Is The Spectrum Radio Network a Public Service broadcaster or a part of the BBC?

A: No. Spectrum Radio is a privately-owned, privately-run Independent Commercial Radio Station with no ties to national, regional or local Government.  Our income comes from selling advertising and sponsorship.  We are not the BBC.

Q: How do I get a job at the Spectrum Radio Network?

A: Just email a CV to John Ogden at jogden@spectrumradio.net. He’ll send you an email right back telling you whether there’s an opening that might interest you or if he’s got to “keep the application on file”.

 

Q: My Community’s programme is on at an inconvenient time for me. How can I hear it?

A: Many of our Programmes are available to 'Listen Again' at any time on-demand through this website. Go to your Community’s page and look for the "Listen Again" and "Podcast" links.

 

Q: How do I complain about Spectrum Radio?

A: If you have any complaints about the radio station, for example something you have heard - an advertisement or news story - in the first instance contact the station. We want to hear from you and we should be able to resolve the issue quickly. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact Ofcom (the industry regulator) on 020 7981 3040 or via their website.

Q:   I can't hear my programme.

 

A:   Are you trying to listen:

 

  • On 558 AM? Try moving your radio near a window and rotating it. Are you in the reception area?  Our 558kHz Medium Wave signal covers Greater London and immediate surrounding areas.

 

  • On DAB? Have you extended your antenna? Try repositioning your radio near a window.  Have you searched for stations? Press "Auto Tune" or "Search" (see your radio's instruction manual for your model) to discover all available stations.  Are you in the reception area?  Our DAB signals cover the Greater London area.

 

  • On SKY? On SKY digital, tune to channel 0185. On a generic satellite receiver, point your dish at Eurobird 1 at 28.5°E . Tune to: 11224 MHz V tp: C2L SR: 27500-2/3.  If in doubt, consult your satellite installation engineer.

 

  • Online? Are you trying to hear:

    • A live stream?

      • Have you selected the correct option for Pcs/Macs/Android Phones or for iPhones/iPads ?

      • Can you listen to other online radios? If not, Is the volume setting on your computer and on the player itself up fully?

      • Do you have any “Ad Blocking” software that might prevent the stream playing?

         

    • A listen again?

      • Have you selected the correct option for Pcs/Macs/Android Phones or for iPhones/iPads ?
