Background
The large and growing Somali community in Britain do not have a
reliable
Somali-language
media broadcast that communicates directly to them in a language and way they
understand as well as feel comfortable with. This seems to have alienated them
from the rest of the society in terms of getting the right information and
services they need.
SOA is established to cater for all
sections of the Somali community and endeavours to provide them with credible
and reliable programmes regardless of gender or age, especially providing a
platform for women and youth.
At Somali On Air (SOA) we understand the need and importance of
such a medium and are willing to take up this challenge in order to become the
true eyes and ears of the Somali community in Britain in a way that is
professional and effective.
