The Spectrum Radio Network
What is the National Cancer Action Team - NCAT?
The National Cancer Action - or NCAT - are a part of the UK National Health Service, NHS. They help raise awareness of all different types of cancers throughout the many ethnic communities who live in the UK.
Cancer is a disease which doesn't know who you are or where you're from but for a Doctor it is very important to know more about patients as individuals and understand their backgrounds. The better they know who you are, the more they can understand what you need and the easier it is for you to tell them.
This is why the National Cancer Action Team is working with The Spectrum Radio Network to engage with 2 key community groups: Bengali & Ghanaian.
Our aim is to raise the awareness of the many different types of cancers affecting people from these communities and help provide them with more information and support.
We are doing this on the radio programmes, at important community events and here on this website.
