The Paradise Island gives its name to The Spectrum Radio Network’s Mauritian programme.
There are nearly 50,000 Mauritian-born residents in the UK with the vast majority living in London.
WHERE DO THEY LIVE?
Mainly in North London. The biggest celebration of Mauritian culture happens every summer as Down Lane Park in North London plays host to the annual Mauritian Open Air Festival. Every August, over ten thousand people descended on the park for a day of Mauritian music, food, drink.
HOW TO REACH THEM THROUGH THE SPECTRUM RADIO NETWORK
Paradise Club is Spectrum’s Mauritian programme. It’s on DAB at 10pm and at www.spectrumradio.net on Mondays playing great Sega and Soca music.
